Probably just like the way they used to do the widescreen CarPlay mod on the G30. It usually involves dancing around the certificate and hacking the headunit code directly which requires an INET cable and hacked software. They seem to be a reputable company, so they may have purchased the service software from BMW. It’s too bad they charge for redos as some of the smaller guys just put in an automated programming routine through a remote session tied to your VIN. Of course parameters and keys change during software updates, so it requires constant maintenance.
