Comfort access should be standard equipment on the i4 US spec. Have you tried checking your key settings in iDrive?
Personally I’ve disabled unlock on approach as it drives me crazy. Car is constantly locking/unlocking in the garage.
As
note46 mentioned, unlock/lock only works when you hold your phone up to the handle on the i4. The car isn’t outfitted with UWB tech needed for that.
