I don't know what technology the old amp is
But I would be guessing its a class AB amp as it was released in 06.
The newer amps are full range class D which means they can be much smaller
due to switching technology in the amp itself.
Much more power is packed in a much smaller package .
Do a search on the two technologies there are some trade offs.
The original HI Fi amp is rated at 25 per channel for the doors and 40 for the floors. (at 2 ohms)
I have read the Alpine is 85 per channel rms at 4 ohms.
A better substitute for the HI FI is the JL XD 600/6 as it has 6 channels but the speakers
should be upgraded to take the new power.
