I had this problem once at work, and I wrote a letter(didn't know the owner) for the repair cost and left on her windshield and she paid me in cash. You just need to be clear on what the problem and remedy is. No need to pussy fight on it. She clearly doesn't know the problem, so either tell her straight or don't complain.
