Not sure on the injury, but I can still see this scene from around 1978:
I'm walking home from school along the street paralleling the main road. There is a relatively dense divider of trees/bushes. Hear a screech and crunch, then a tire comes bounding thru said trees. Mere seconds later, and man clamors thru said trees, says "Excuse me" and takes a leak in the bushes. He took a few steps after, then slumped to the ground.
