What's the reason? They are 3rd used as soon as they are fitted. Bmw recommend replacement at 3mm, so are we actually expected to pay £200+ for 3mm usage?

Yes i was told by the BMW advisor those tires are only suppose to last 7k to 10k miles at the most.
