Dal tadka, aromatic rice and raita
Lentil stew, aromatic rice and cucumber yogurt condiment
Near the top of the list for flavor and texture. Great combination of smooth lentils with rice. Strongly flavored dal is tempered by the cooling raita.
Aromatic rice: Basmati rice, salt, cumin seeds, whole cardamom
Raita: yogurt, grated cucumber, finely diced onion, salt, cumin powder and red chili powder
Dal tadka:
Mix of four kinds of lentils, choose your favorites
Turmeric
Salt
Onions
Tomatoes
Ginger garlic paste
Hing
Curry leaves
Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
Green chile
Red chile
Coriander powder
Cumin seeds
Oil
Ghee - small amount
