Part of the problem is the same thing that is infecting police responses. Fear that doing the right thing will result in life changing legal consequences when facing the political mob. For example a flight attendant being assaulted on a plane. If the assaulter is black and possible helping passenger is white it gives pause. One video of the white guy hitting the black guy and the real story might not come out.
Another factor is we are being brain washed into believing it is ALWAYS something best left to professionals and to not get involved. Not horrible advice IF the professionals are there. |
