I wrapped mine as well last year, its definitely do-able but pain in the a$$ for the front grills since I did only the inner insert (the blue ones) and the rear took time because of the angles.

for the rear I removed the last cover which the license plate mounts to, unplugged the reverse sensors and the camera, also removed the reverse lights, pretty straight forward and it needs to be removed to fully cover the accent on the inside and behind reverse light because you can see it from the side view.

I think painting is a good solution but I am not sure how someone would do it for the front grills without removing them, specially if they want to paint just the center colored area! Then also the rear bumper where the trim is part of the bumper because the trim color sort of blends in with your car paint.. I guess you would have to do some super smooth tape lines and curves!
