I'm not aware of any pre-LCI cars having the battery upgrade and I would be wary of what dealers may tell you about the i8, they know less than the people on this forum. That is definitely a pre-LCI car just late registered for some reason. LCI models launched in June 2018 in the UK, you can find plenty of that era in the classifieds.
Absolutely love the colour though!!
