I started working in junior high and all through high school so that I could save the money to buy my own cars and paid cash for all of them as well.
It certainly helped that it was a time when you could get some great cars for bargain prices.
The other good thing was that my parents made me pay for my own insurance as well. This kept me from doing much stupider things than what I was already doing! |
I was on my own when I was 18. My mom died when I was 17 and my dad was not a real father to us. Had my own apartment then (with my girlfriend) and had bills to pay, plus saving for a car.
