To save you some money and time at first, I'd recommend you take off the fuse panel and see which fuse is related to the interior lighting (Sorry, I do not know which one it is at this time) and see if it is missing/loose
As a side note, my coding worked fine and did not affect the ability of the lights to come on or off. Restored it multiple times to factory and it was a hardware issue, not a software one. That was when I decided to bring it into the shop.

I had the same issue! BMW just called and said that there was a loose wire in the driver side door. I'm not sure if it's the wild door mechanism that makes it prone to disconnecting, but that's two cases right there.
