I do have mine in the gun safe, but I also have mine insured on my homeowners policy.
I'm in a unique situation compared to most people insuring watches though. I inherited my grandfathers 1971 Rolex Daytona Exotic Dial. It's worth about as much as my house is worth LOL! So, adding it to my homeowners policy was a pretty large jump in premiums (understandably).
In the end, I can't risk not insuring my watches. One of them is basically irreplaceable if something were to happen.
