I've done Intermittent Fasting and Lean Gains in the past when it was becoming popular.
But I have become so conditioned to eating every few hours...I just dropped it.
Basically I eat when I am hungry. I see it like this...your body let's you know when it's thirsty or when you need to go to the bathroom. So let it dictate when it needs food.
Now there can be a fine line out of eating from boredom, or even being dehydrated can cause hunger symptoms. But I have a specific set of macros that I have for each meal when I do get hungry...and the numbers of those meals change on a daily basis.
I let my workouts setup my eating patterns. On leg days, I may eat 7-8 meals as my body is recovering...on rest days, I may only eat 3-4 meals.
At the end of the week...it typically averages out around the same number of calories to keep my weight constant.
