Honda targeted the 458, just like with the first gen NSX, where they targeted the 328, and then the 348. And with all the data, in terms of performance, ii believe performs the 458 (and I believe the current gen R8 V10 +). It also out performs the GT-R, but not by that much.

The new NSX is basically a Japanese Porsche 918 for less, with two less cylinders.

It seems that with all the reviews, the Honda is starting to get a lot of respect, it's time many take the blinders off. They created a world reknowned car before, one that influenced the Mclaren F1. And embarassed Ferrari.
