I just bring the water to a boil, then turnoff heat and cover the pot for about 10 min or so.
Also, take it up a notch and do some "scotch eggs" great lunch and snacks
Last time I made them, the SO was wtf are you doing, no one will like them. Then the group ate all of them at all times of the day and night.
