BMW is no late, does have a dedicated EV platform, and is no dead on arrival.
BMW have been building electric cars since 2009, full production since 2014, and the first (and only) manufacturer with a dedicated EV platform in carbon fiber.
The i4 is a management, engineering, and sales decision, and it works extremely well as such.
