I think functionally, they are supposed to be brighter and can cast light over further distances. BUT, I don't know if that gets changed to meet North American regulations…
For most people, they were included in our x5/x7s as part of a package, or we spec'd them out because they looked better (IMO) than the base lights.
Aesthetically, I'm sure BMW could have made them "look" the same…but clearly chose not to. Probably the same strategy as the m-sport package, I guess. |
As far as I know, the standard lights don't have cornering lights function…
