The lead detective mentioned he was driven there. It’s not surprising he issued a statement stating he “categorically” denies the allegations. This is what you do these days: deny, deny deny. Even if you’re caught red handed you still deny it. Further, any police department and DA’s office worth their salt wouldn’t bring charges against a high profile individual like Robert Kraft without a tight case.
