They have been making Mocs for years and have incorporated the little nub design on the back of the heel into many of their dress shoes. They sort of market themselves as the shoe you want to wear when driving through the hills of Italy in your classic Pininfarina.
The sole design adds some nice grip when your heel n' toeing it. Their not cheap, but I have about 6 pairs and they last for years and never go out of style.
