Had a goal to break it in 2015, never hit it. Tried again this year and hit 20:48 on the track. Then I got distracted by cycling as the weather got nice, and haven’t run at all since due to the recovery cost of running impacting cycling training.

On track to hit 5k miles on the bike this year, in about 380-400 hours of effort or so. Satisfied to be back in consistent shape for the first time in 3-4 years.
I've always enjoyed a 5k and training for one vs. anything longer. I was always a sprinter in high school (800m about my max) and while I may do a 10k as a training run, I always choose 5k for a race.

I am similar to you in times. Cant seem to break it.

My daughter hit 19s in her cross country meet and of course she let me know. lol. But to see girls in HS hit 16s and guys hit 15 or maybe 14 is insane to me.
