I have 6GBs and just ordered 12 more. I realized my mac is slow when I went to the apple store and started messing with their mac pros. I realized that I had just gotten used to it lol The computer there had 3GBs if you're not using ram intensive apps like after effects then you don't really need more than 3.
I'm copying the drives now I'll keep you posted on what happens. If that doesn't go through I'll do a clean install on the new drive to see if that works better. I'm pretty sure it's the hard drive, I did a PRAM reboot and it was the same deal.
