The i8 gets an extraordinary number of compliments

As a long time advocate for BMW to produce a moderately priced 1000Kg Z2M w high output turbo 4 cyl, I'm guessing we are on the same page there. D'accord. That said, it is tiring to see kibitzing from those who have never owned or driven an i8. Some of us actually do want a wild car with a carbon fiber monocoque and a hybrid powertrain. Clearly the i8 is an unusual car. I have never gotten nearly so many compliments and inquiries. And I'm guessing that BMW has learned a lot of invaluable engineering/technical lessons from the i8 development that will be applied to mass-produced products.
