Agreed, we were literally forbidden from engaging in pursuit of a motorcycle. Back in the day when I first came on the job we used to and in almost always went bad for the guy on the bike.
I was in a pursuit with a group of criminals that were nicknamed the "Bump and Rob Bandits" in the early 90's. They had a Lincoln Town Car, OMFG I almost bought one after this pursuit. It was fast and handled well but the beating it took was unbelievable. The pursuit lasted almost an hour and during the chase there were literally dozens of MVC's and this thing just kept going. I felt bad for the OPP guy that had to do the paperwork for all the MVC's on the 401 Hwy.
