The power train was perfect - it offered instant torque off the line in car built for a gas engine. This could only be accomplished with electric to move it quickly to fill in the low curve before the engines turbo kicks in, having electric for the front axle is a sport cars drivers dream.

Where the I8 failed is with its very limited electric mileage, BMW lied up front and said the I8 would get 25-35 miles, when in fact it was difficult to achieve half of the that distance. I enjoyed my I8 while I owned it!
