We previously shared the first confirmation about the next gen (G87) M2, with production set to begin 12/2022 in Mexico. Autocar has now published some more G87 M2 details in its newest report.
According to Autocar, the G87 M2 will feature:
- S58 engine from the X3M / X4M and G80 M3 / G82 M4
- At least 420 hp / 406 lb-ft
- 0-62mph in low 4 seconds
- RWD exclusively
- Manual and 8 speed automatic transmissions
- Built on CLAR platform (along with upcoming second generation (G42) 2 Series)
- Possible mild-hybrid electric boosting incorporated some time during 7 year life cycle
- Assembly in both the San Luis Potosí Mexico plant (for NA) and Leipzig Germany plant.
