Another day off and beautiful weather inspired me to hike with my dog Jessy from Regensberg Castle to the "High Watchtower" on top of the
Laegern ridge, which closes the pre-alpine Jurassic Mountains to the east.
First picture shows Regensberg Castle (built 1240) and far behind the Schwarzwald Mountains which is already Germany. This perfect strategic location was already used by the ancient Romans to overlook the area along the Rhine.
The fantastic panoramic view from the summit shows the opposite side with Lake Zurich and behind the eastern main Alps, which are about an hour's drive away.
