The warranty kicks in for 12 months once 50,000 miles is reached, so if the car reaches 50,000 miles in 30 months, the original warranty would expire and the CPO would then kick in and extend for 12 months of unlimited miles...or 42 months total in that example.

If you do not understand the MAJOR differences in coverage of the original warranty and a CPO, you need to do more research.
BMWUSA site says it extends the warranty to 5 years unlimited miles. Even if the 50,000 mile mark is reached in under 4 years.
