So far, EA has built a fast charging station near-ish everywhere I care about, but the redundancy would be nice.

I agree, you could easily purchase an adapter and use existing superchargers. We will see what they do by end of year.
When they do open the superchargers, maybe we should have a meet up at a Tesla Supercharging location to charge our BMW's
