I'm considering buying but I don't want to just waste 50 bucks if it's not going to work.

I think this is just to make a wired car play setup wireless but your setup still needs CarPlay to begin with.

So if you had an aftermarket stereo with wired CarPlay this will allow you to go wireless.

This will not give you CarPlay however.


But if your I3 has carplay I think it's already wireless.

Also I think you need to code the i3 to allow video over usb but I don't think the usb will allow mirroring on the bmw interface. The software won't allow it


You would need an aftermarket Apple CarPlay to have mirroring I think....
