Are you planning on upgrading anytime soon? The reason I ask is because it takes quite a bit of GPU horsepower to push a 1440p at 120hz let alone 144hz. While G-Sync will help, you might be buying more monitor than your system can handle.
But yes definitely IPS for gaming or VA if you want a bit more response time but definitely not TN.
