The sunroof option on recent model year i3 makes it feel more spacious inside. But I think it has been an option since beginning in European market. Maybe it is difficult to have new options that need structural changes.

I honestly think the i3 will be done after this version. BMW will be moving onto the iNext, an i4 a d electrifying their bread and butter 3 series. If there is an i3, it will look more like a sedan while the iX3 will have a place in the biggest market: SUVs.
