I'm on the eastern edge of the Central time zone and I get up at 7AM every day, so if it takes 30 minutes or so for the sun to come up, fine. But I hate getting out of work at 4:30PM and it's dark already. The permanent change would extend the riding season by a good bit. I'd rather have that hour at the end of the day. I can see where my neighbors across the border in Indiana might not be thrilled with it being dark at 7AM now, though.

I like to walk in the a.m. as the sun comes up when it is light enough to make mosquitoes a non-issue but not too hot yet. When I have to wait until 7:30 or so, is pushes the start to my day back, which then extends it on the back end. Neighborhood kids were also walking to school or waiting for the bus in the dark for a bit. It would be worse in January. No way to please everyone.
