From an engineering standpoint, doing more, with less, is a beautiful concept. This is why so many of the the other Hybrid cars and other EV's like the Tesla are still just old-school thinking, they do more - with more... more motors, more batteries, more weight, more money..

Yes, that is also very very true.
I would love an i8, but I'm unfortunately not in the financial position to get one as of right now. Were I to personally spent $130k on a car, I would get myself a GT3 as that serves my driving style better.
But I can totally understand why there are people who would get the i8 as a weekend car (can't really DD it too far..)
