just to add. I bought a little telescope last summer and sometimes look at different stars.
I noticed many stars are pinpoint, maybe a little reddish or blueish or white or even pulsing -but I never detected pulsing.
Conversely some stars never focused into a tight spot - I thought my focuser wasn't exact enough - turns out the reason they are never tight spots is because they are classified double-stars. And like with the conjunction the are two objects close together. But unlike planets that orbit sun due to gravity the double-stars are always in their tandem position.
