Beginning to question the validity of my correlation theory: higher charge is achieved by higher ambient temperature. Did a quick early morning run with the i8 and proceeded to recharge car thereafter. As noted in the snapshot, e-charge allowed for 20 mile charge. Ambient temperaturein garage at 10:32 AM was 68°F or 20°C.
