There was nothing wrong with Ham's positioning as he was on the optimal racing line to make the corner. I believe the only reason why Ham didn't block the inside line was because he had a strong feeling that Max wasn't going to yield and would hit him.

I'd like to say what's done is done, but it will be interesting to see what happens next because I do believe other drivers now feel like they should be able to defend by running a competitor wide and clear off track if that's what it takes to keep their position.
No two incidents are the exactly the same and I would think the stewards, some of which are ex-F1 drivers, will judge any incidents on merit.
In the case of turn 4 Max's tyres were overheated from defending causing him to go further in and braking later to defend and it was judged on this.
