Tell you what, ylincooper, I am down here in SoFla as well and don't even bother with the dealers down here, except for service.
My out of state dealer whom I ordered the X6M from told me they will be taking orders beginning of next year.
Part of my concern here is with the dealers being clueless, who will handle servicing of the cars.... I would imagine at first only official BMWi dealers will have anyone working for them capable of actually doing any technical work on the BMWi vehicles.
