The issue isn't BMW's tax credit; it's the US government and new EV rules from the build-back better plan. Anything over $85k (SUVs, thinks cars is something stupid like $55k) doesn't qualify, and if your income is over a certain amount, you also no longer qualify.

BBB didn't and hasn't passed at this point- and it's unlikely too. Thus, old rules apply, and the question is if BMW still has federal credits left and if the state the potential buyer lives in offers any.
The moral of the story is you want it better to buy early than to wait.
