Blacked out grills with no distinct division between the kidney grilles looks a bit Kia. Not that you would mistake the i8 for a Kia... They just don't have the immediate "hey there's a BMW" look to them.
Sort o the same way the newer Ford Fusion looks a bit Austin Martin.
