This is true. I just got a 2017 and there were only 30 for sale on the east coast at the time I was looking. I had 2 dealers literally tell me they went to California to grab them and sell them on the east coast.
I checked the listings myself and this was true.
I did like everyone else here in the southeast and got an electric car after the panic driven gas shortage.
