I'm in the 6th borough of New York, Boca Raton, FL. There are many Canadians down here and you will absolutely not be disappointed. Even though you can't get a double double, you will be around many from the Northeast and Canada.
It sounds like you are not interested in government overreach, you have a desire to work without restriction, and want to live free. If that's the case, then Florida is for you.
