Don't go to an ER or hospital. Go to an urgent care center. It'll be at least half the bill and by your posting on here, I don't think your situation's really that life-or-death.
An ER visit will at least be $2k and that's negotiated (invoice will be $4k). Save some cash or wait it out. I've had ground beef that wasn't thoroughly cooked with similar symptoms. If it's viral, it'll pass.
