On my 2018 LCI, ICE kicks in above 63mph for comfort mode.

Also, when the ICE kicks it, it isn't as far as I can tell 4WD. It's 'up to' 4WD, but most of the time it's RWD. 4WD is only presumably on kick down, slipping, or sports mode (with the blue 'e-boost' ring lit up).

It only uses the high voltage battery for torque fill - if you check the battery it'll use about 1% every 3-4 miles, it barely touches the electric motor in comfort mode when the ICE is running.
