Also, when the ICE kicks it, it isn't as far as I can tell 4WD. It's 'up to' 4WD, but most of the time it's RWD. 4WD is only presumably on kick down, slipping, or sports mode (with the blue 'e-boost' ring lit up).
It only uses the high voltage battery for torque fill - if you check the battery it'll use about 1% every 3-4 miles, it barely touches the electric motor in comfort mode when the ICE is running.

That might make sense that in Comfort when it kicks on the ICE it directs the power off the front wheels and pushes it to rear wheels using the ICE. That is why the blue eDRIVE line disappears from the display.
