the new infrastructure bill puts limits on the price of a vehicle. the BMW i4 exceeds that limit currently. It would be wise for BMW to drop the price $500, remove an option that everyone will want and included on all cars. this will get it below the threshold. they would also have to change the M50 from a separate model to just a package you can add onto the base.
As long as they do something along these lines, things will be fine, but we haven't heard anything yet obviously. it's all speculation.
