Why hasn't anyone mentioned the possibility of salmonella?
Spool: I thought I had food poisoning in Puerto Vallarta (thank you shitty seafood restaurant) and spent a hell-night much like the one u mentioned. I had to get admitted to the local hospital down there. It was clear nothing was getting any better and I needed to get the f**k outta Dodge; back to a home-hospital. They refused to discharge me until their legal department drafted a waiver (4 hrs
) saying that I wouldn't sue the hospital in the event of my death en route to home (the whole document was in Spanish - wtf).
Anyhow, got home - straight to hospital, where they filled me with 6 bags of saline (drip) before I took my first pee. Diagnosis: salmonella. By that time I was already doing the funky-bacon dance and had to be restrained in my gurney.
Moral of the story - get yourself to a hospital and forget the home-remedies (Prep H & Pepto - really?). Things like this can be a lot more serious than they appear, and it happens fast.
Get well soon
