I know that few englisch words are borrowed from German, e.g. Kindergarten or Poltergeist. But as in every language around the world you would find everywhere words which are irreplacable and would ruin the sense. Hence Im be able to talk and understand hollandse so far, you language is sometimes closer to English. Biertje?  |
There is also Angst, Fest, Doppelgänger, Gedankenexperiment, and Zeitgeist. And, of course, kaputt!
