Yep, frame geometry etc...everything on the design side, from a blank sheet. A hardtail frame can be self-built surprisingly well from off the shelf materials/components, and using relatively inexpensive tools. And geometry (not materials etc) is king.

Highly unlikely. It was a tiny company called BTR Fabrications (btr-fabrications.com), founded in 2012. I cofounded it with a friend, who now runs it on his own. Work-life balance was wrong, even though I'm still passionate about bikes and the engineering behind them.
