I like driver helmets to be immediately recognised. Mansell and Senna's helmets hardly ever changed and they became iconic.
Well said EdM5 -

This is something most of us have always thought but never communicated - well done.

When Nige won the 92 F1 WDC he came to the US to compete in Indy Car in 93; I attended the Portland, Oregon race and his iconic helmet livery (even his transporters had this helmet on the sides); I met him in the pits and was wearing a Williams Constructors t-shirt and a Williams F1 hat....he just looked at me for a moment and smiled and then he signed my hat....I'll never forget meeting him.

Side note; that summer we went to Whistler Ski Resort that is north of Vancouver, British Columbia and while at poolside, I set the hat down on the deck....didn't notice but pool water got my hat wet and the iconic signature was now just a blur....

Nige qualified on pole and Emmo won the race; Nige won the Indy Car Championship in his first yr with Indy Car.
